E-Sports VR.

Project Overview.

Partnering with ESL Face It, Pebble Studios created a captivating VR experience aimed at reaching VVIPs and C-Suite customers. Utilising the full capabilities of our CG Animation and Creative team, we produced an exciting and immersive virtual tour of the E-Sports event, extending an invitation to viewers unable to attend in person. 

This engaging VR experience not only captured the excitement of the event and what they would expect if they attended, but it also encouraged customers who couldn’t be there to explore more about the brand behind the gaming spectacle.  

Pre-Production.

In the initial Pre-Production phase, we had to develop, design and produce a 3D interactive ‘tour hub.’ Designing a beautiful and serene environment, this ‘hub’ served as a gateway taking the viewers on an exciting journey to the main arena ready for their adventure to begin!  

To bring this vision to life, we carefully crafted and presented the conceptual groundwork through a series of compelling initial style frames, mood boards and scamp designs. 

Production.

Our team travelled to Cologne, Germany executing an immersive 360 shoot in the Lanxess Arena, bringing this visionary project to life.  

Using 360 camera equipment, mounted to a remote controlled vehicle, we were able to capture all the footage required from all the different rooms ranging from the main arena to the VIP suite, data visualisation and gaming rooms. By doing this, it allowed us to showcase the entire atmosphere of the arena, providing an authentic perspective for our immersive project. 

Post-Production.

In the post-production phase, our meticulous process involved editing and seamlessly stitching together the footage. This stage included the creation of a previs, rough-cut, refining the lighting and texturing of the CG hub, incorporating 2D graphics and recording a voice over to enhance the overall narrative and viewer experience. 

We leveraged the capabilities of Unreal Engine to attain not only a superior level of quality but also a significantly accelerated turnaround time. Unreal Engine empowered us to swiftly dive into the look development phase and implement final quality edits for the client, even in the early stages of the project.

By utilising innovative tools and traditionally storytelling craft, we produced a visually captivating experience for our audience, ensuring that every detail of the project, from the intricacies of the 3D hub to the dynamic arena footage, was presented with realism and precision which allowed us to showcase the full potential of our vision.
